How Age Friendly is My Community?

The factors that make a place desirable to work and live in can change as people get older.

Many people remain active into older age however others experience poverty, health problems and isolation. Lack of services and poor design of neighbourhoods can sometimes lead to older people being cut off within communities. It is vital that the needs of older people are considered in a community to ensure everyone enjoys health, wellbeing and quality of life.

Age Concern Cymru and Help the Aged in Wales, as part of the Towards Common Ground Campaign, believes more could be done to ensure that communities in Wales are suitable for people of all ages.
