The Met

The Met is the recently refurbished cultural and conference centre situated in the midst of Abertillery in Blaenau Gwent. The Metropole Theatre, Dance Hall and Market Hall, as it was known in its former days, was constructed in 1892, by Charles John Seaborne.

With the support of Welsh Assembly funding, the building has been refurbished into a state of the art cultural and conference centre, retaining many of the original Victorian architectural features

Conference facilities include areas, which may be designed to suit any style of meeting and conference. The main auditorium is multi –functional with the ability to be utilised as a performing area, as well as a meeting and workshop space.

Market Hall Cinema

Conveniently located in Brynmawr town centre the Market Hall Cinema offers a friendly welcome and a movie-going treat.

With a traditional-style large screen and an auditorium seating 350 people, the cinema has a fantastic atmosphere for an unforgettable experience.

There’s great family films throughout the year as well as the latest Blockbuster movies.
