Sure Start

The Sure Start Health Team provide support to families with children aged 0-3 years, aiming to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual wellbeing of children using a multi agency approach. The Sure Start Health Team in partnership with the Community Midwives provide antenatal information sessions at the Integrated Children's Centre (ICC), Blaina. They also co-ordinate and deliver antenatal roadshows throughout the Borough, working with many agencies to offer health information for the antenatal and postnatal periods. Together with the Midwives and Health Visitors they provide breastfeeding support throughout the Borough, including the Sure Start Baby Café Breastfeeding Peer Support group, currently running in the ICC, with another Baby Café in Ebbw Vale.

Chatterbox

Chatterbox is a group to support children with speech and language difficulties and their families. It is a structured intervention to improve and stimulate the language development of children aged 2 to 3 and a half years through play and activity sessions.
