Low Secure Unit for Men (18-65 years) with Mental Disorder and complex care needs
Service Description:
** Step down service from conditions of higher security (forensic)
** Step up for clients who cannot be appropriately managed in an open ward
** Single en-suite bedroom facility
** Extra care suite (seclusion room facilities)
** Urgent admission accepted
Client Profile:
** Patients liable to detention under the Mental Health Act 1983
** Age range 18-65
** Patients with enduring Mental Illness and complex needs requiring care within a robust hospital encironment
** Patients at risk of absconding
** Patients at risk of non compliance with care

** A highly cost effective and value for money route for psychiatric rehabilitation
** High standards of care
** Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of treatment using validated tools
** Relevant community based skills for future self reliance
** Continuous risk assessment and appropriate management of identified risks
** Weekly MDT review of individual patients
** An individually tailored rehabilitation program
